My father taught me that light travels roughly one foot in a nanosecond. We were sitting outside on a warm night, and he said it plainly, like a fact everyone already knew. I didn’t understand the physics yet, but I understood the feeling: distance costs time, and time is never free. That idea followed me into every system I’ve built since — every model, every agent, every network hop is measured against that same ruler.
